1. Activity focus and purpose : To encourage faculty members to promote EMI teaching activities and to enhance the English communication skills of teachers, staff, and students, the College has organized the “On-Campus Foreign Instructor Program and EMI English Conversation Sessions for Faculty, Staff, and Students.” This activity invites foreign lecturers to engage with the College’s faculty, staff, and students in English discussions on various topics, encouraging participants to share their personal perspectives and reflections. The goal is to improve participants’ English speaking and expression skills. The content is rich and diverse, closely connected to university life, and designed to resonate with students—further stimulating their motivation and confidence in practical English communication. 2. Activity features and implementation : This activity, themed “Dream Big,” guided students to share their personal goals, future aspirations, and concrete steps for achieving their dreams in English. During the session, the teacher encouraged students to think boldly about their ideal lives and career directions. Through discussion, students came to understand that dreams are not merely distant imaginations, but can be gradually realized through goal setting, action planning, and continuous effort. Students shared the goals they hope to achieve in the future, such as academic achievement, career development, professional skill enhancement, and personal growth. They also reflected on the abilities and preparations needed to reach these goals. In addition, the teacher guided students to break down larger goals into practical and achievable steps, such as setting short-term plans, developing good habits, seeking resources and support, and maintaining a positive attitude when facing setbacks. Through this activity, students not only practiced expressing their personal ideas and future plans in English, but also re-examined their own goals and action plans, thereby cultivating an attitude of daring to dream, proactive planning, and continuous practice. 3. Quality indicators of activities The teacher was very kind and thoughtful, and guided us to think more deeply during the class. Since the topic was a little challenging, the teacher even asked whether we would like to change it, which made us feel cared for and supported. I was truly happy to join this class, and I sincerely appreciate the teacher’s teaching and encouragement. |
