The bilingual study plan for college students is an important key to leading higher education to face the trend of globalization. Since our school is a medical university, in the process of promoting bilingual learning, the college must not only adhere to the quality of running the school, stabilize the passing rate of students' national examination certificates, and adhere to the mission of academic value, but also must face the acceptance of all English teaching in the college.
In order to strengthen the college support system, the school will set up a task-oriented and dedicated promotion unit in conjunction with the implementation of the " The BEST Program Advance into Key Cultivation College ". With the full participation of the heads of the administrative and teaching units, it will be not only a model but a role of strengthening for all faculty and staff. At the same time, stimulating the internal motivation of the faculty supplemented by subsidies/incentive measures for promoting the continuous infusion of bilingual teaching reform and learning innovation in the school.
In terms of teachers and teaching, focusing on "optimizing teachers' EMI teaching ability", through the recruitment of EMI teaching talents, Mentor and TA allocation, and a series of EMI community activities and certification training workshops, we will improve teachers' EMI teaching skills; On the other hand, with "improving students' English level" as the core, through the strengthening of ESL and EAP courses and the construction of an international inclusive campus, the students' English level will be continuously improved to above CEFR B2 level, supplemented by on-campus EMI courses and international high-quality online courses. EMI courses expand the breadth of students' learning. In addition to ensuring the quality of EMI teaching, the school will also gradually formulate EMI course subsidy/review procedures, and track and regularly evaluate teaching effectiveness.
In summary, the support from the school is the strongest backing for the key training colleges. In view of this, our school has planned the short-term (2021-2022) and medium-long-term (2023-2025) performance goals of the whole school and key training colleges in terms of organization, teachers, courses, and students as follows. And use the "PDCA cycle mode: "Plan→Do→Check→Act" for plan management and control, hoping to track the implementation of performance goals through regular management meetings and ensure various indicators achievement degree.
