1. Activity focus and purpose:
This activity is designed to comprehensively strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills for the English proficiency test. In response to the examination requirements of the first semester of the 114 academic year, four reinforcement classes— “Speaking,” “Writing,” “Listening,” and “Reading”—will be offered. Through professional instruction and simulated practice, students will receive systematic guidance in listening and reading, while also undergoing targeted training in speaking and writing to enhance language expression and test-taking abilities. Overall, this activity not only reinforces students’ language foundation and examination strategies but also aims to increase their motivation and confidence in taking the test, cultivate a positive learning attitude, and ultimately enhance their competitiveness in both academic advancement and future career development. 2. Activity features and implementation:
The content of this activity covers the four major components of the English proficiency test: Speaking, Writing, Listening, and Reading. This session focuses on the Writing Reinforcement Class, led by a foreign instructor. Through situational simulations, interactive exercises, and real-time feedback, students will be guided to overcome writing barriers, improve essay structure and expression, and build a solid foundation of confidence for both test writing and practical application. The instructor will also explain different question types one by one, analyzing common pitfalls and problem-solving techniques, enabling students to systematically strengthen their writing skills through structured practice. 3. Quality indicators of activities
Through the lecturer’s clear explanations, students gained a deeper understanding of the exam format and were better able to grasp the structure and organization of writing. They also learned many practical writing techniques, phrases, and sentence patterns, and found the step-by-step breakdown of each question to be well-organized and easy to follow. Some students also expressed the hope that more commonly used sentence patterns and connectors could be introduced in future sessions. |
