1.      Activity focus and purpose:

This activity is designed to comprehensively strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills for the English proficiency test. In response to the examination requirements of the first semester of the 114 academic year, four reinforcement classes— “Speaking,” “Writing,” “Listening,” and “Reading”—will be offered. Through professional instruction and simulated practice, students will receive systematic guidance in listening and reading, while also undergoing targeted training in speaking and writing to enhance language expression and test-taking abilities. Overall, this activity not only reinforces students’ language foundation and examination strategies but also aims to increase their motivation and confidence in taking the test, cultivate a positive learning attitude, and ultimately enhance their competitiveness in both academic advancement and future career development.

2.      Activity features and implementation:

The activity covers the four major components of the English proficiency test: Speaking, Writing, Listening, and Reading. This session focused on the Reading Reinforcement Class, led by a foreign instructor. Through situational simulations, interactive exercises, and real-time feedback, the class helped students improve their English reading comprehension and answering speed. The course specifically trained students on strategies for handling long passages and locating key words, and demonstrated how to effectively identify main ideas, infer meanings, and recognize distractors in multiple-choice questions.

3.      Quality indicators of activities

Based on students’ feedback, they generally felt that they gained a great deal from the course. They found the teacher’s reading techniques and problem-solving strategies practical and easy to understand, and the passage analyses clear and valuable. The teaching content was also considered highly applicable. Several students noted that the strategy of “reading the questions before reading the passage” significantly improved their efficiency in locating correct answers.
