1.         Activity focus and purpose

To align with the 2030 Bilingual Policy, this training program is organized to cultivate Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Assistant Teaching Assistants (ATAs) with a fundamental understanding of gender equality. Under the guidance of instructors, participants will lead group discussions to enhance foreign TAs’ and ATAs’ awareness of gender issues.

2.         Activity Features and Implementation

Workshop Introduction
In a multicultural campus, people often have different understandings of gender interactions. Words or behaviors that seem casual in daily life, teaching, or social settings may be considered inappropriate—or even sexual harassment—in Taiwan’s gender equality context. This workshop uses real-life scenarios and the legalization of Gender Equity Education Act to help international TAs understand gender-friendly communication and related campus policies. Through examples such as greetings, jokes, comments on clothing, and physical interactions, participants will explore how to respect personal boundaries and avoid misunderstandings. Together, we will learn how to create a safe, respectful, and natural environment for cross-cultural communication.
