1.      Activity focus and purpose :

To comprehensively enhance students' English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, three specialized training courses—Listening & Reading, Speaking & Writing, and Test-Taking Strategies—were offered in response to the English proficiency test requirements for the second semester of the 2024 academic year. Through targeted instruction and simulated practice, students received professional guidance in listening and reading, as well as focused coaching in speaking and writing, helping them become familiar with test formats and strategies. In addition, outstanding students who previously participated in the program and received the Excellence Award were invited to share their learning experiences, test preparation strategies, and practical tips. This initiative not only strengthened students’ language foundation but also encouraged active participation in English proficiency exams, boosting their confidence and competitiveness.

2.      Activity features and implementation :

The "Listening and Reading English Enhancement Workshop" was conducted by a foreign instructor and focused on strengthening students’ listening and reading skills. Through scenario-based simulations and real-time interaction, the course aimed to improve students’ language reception and comprehension abilities. The instructor designed practice questions based on standardized English test formats, guiding students to identify key information, understand passages, and apply effective answering strategies. Immediate feedback and tips were provided to help students become familiar with test procedures and improve their test-taking confidence. The workshop had high student engagement and a positive learning atmosphere.

3.      Quality indicators of activities

1.      Not bad, I learned a lot.

2.      Good.

3.      No comments.

4.      I learned something useful.

5.      I suggest organizing a few mock exams or planning an intensive prep course. Also, the event should be held earlier so we have enough time to adjust and prepare for the test.

6.      By practicing at home first and then listening to the foreign teacher's explanations and analysis, I learned many practical techniques.

7.      The foreign teacher thoughtfully prepared questions based on common mistakes. I gained a lot from it.
