1.     Activity focus and purpose:

This activity is designed to comprehensively strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills for the English proficiency test. In response to the examination requirements of the first semester of the 114 academic year, four reinforcement classes— “Speaking,” “Writing,” “Listening,” and “Reading”—will be offered. Through professional instruction and simulated practice, students will receive systematic guidance in listening and reading, while also undergoing targeted training in speaking and writing to enhance language expression and test-taking abilities. Overall, this activity not only reinforces students’ language foundation and examination strategies but also aims to increase their motivation and confidence in taking the test, cultivate a positive learning attitude, and ultimately enhance their competitiveness in both academic advancement and future career development.

2.     Activity features and implementation:

The activity covers the four major components of the English proficiency test: Speaking, Writing, Listening, and Reading. This session focused on the Listening Reinforcement Class, led by a foreign instructor. The course combined situational simulations, interactive exercises, and real-time feedback to help students improve their English listening comprehension and response speed. The instructor provided practical test-taking techniques and answering strategies for different question types, guiding students to identify key information and recognize essential vocabulary. These methods helped students overcome common listening challenges and enhance their overall test performance.

3.     Quality indicators of activities

The teacher’s explanations were clear and well-organized, and the course content was detailed. Students generally felt that they gained a lot from the class, learning practical listening skills and test-taking strategies that were truly beneficial. However, they also noted that the final part of the test was quite challenging and would require additional practice.
