1.      Activity focus and purpose:

In collaboration with National Sun Yat-sen University, we have invited lecturers from the American Institute in Taiwan to assist with teaching. This initiative aims to enhance students' professional English proficiency and encourages them to engage in self-directed learning activities during their free time.

1.           The course content is very engaging, and the teacher is energetic. I met an student from Pakistan, and it took some time to get used to their accent.

2.           My experience with the "English Leap-Beyond Limits to New Heights" course has been very positive. The course not only helped improve my English language skills but also pushed me to think critically and step out of my comfort zone.Overall Experience: The course was well-structured, and the learning objectives were clear from the start. It helped me gain confidence in speaking, writing, and understanding English in both formal and informal settings.Teaching Methods: The instructor used a variety of teaching methods, including interactive discussions, group work, and presentations. This made the lessons engaging and encouraged active participation, which really helped in understanding complex topics.Course Content: The content was comprehensive and covered all key areas, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The real-world applications, such as preparing presentations and writing essays, were particularly useful in developing practical skills.

3.           The teacher introduced us to slang in a very interesting way and used group activities to help us learn at least six or more terms. It was great!

4.           Today, we practiced narrative writing, which happens to be a type of writing I'm not very skilled at. Since I haven't written in a while, I felt a bit rusty and even struggled to recall some words. I'm really grateful for this opportunity as it made me realize that I need to work harder on improving my English writing skills!

5.           Today, we learned 4 format of writing and figure out the difference between them. For example, descriptive writing focus on more details.

6.           Today, we learned about the history of Thanksgiving through acting. I was a bit surprised by the shift from a literature circle to reader's theater, but I still gained a lot from the experience!

7.           In this class, the teacher introduced several types of documents needed for job applications abroad, including CVs, resumes, and cover letters. I found it very beneficial

8.           Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech was truly amazing! I remember being impressed by his oratory style even back in high school and wanting to learn from it. Thank you to the teacher for also recommending Obama's speeches to us—I’ll make sure to listen to them later!

9.           Today, the teacher introduced the 7+1 Ps to help us learn presentation skills. We also practiced with our classmates, which gave us plenty of opportunities to speak and apply these theories. It was really interesting!👍

10.       The course is enriching and engaging, offering opportunities to develop critical thinking, practice conversation, writing, and more. Overall, it’s a rewarding activity where you can gain a lot and make friends along the way.

11.       Today, I learned many English jokes, which helped me better understand American life and expressions. I found it very interesting,thank teacher.

12.       I gained a deeper understanding of the origin of Thanksgiving. Initially, it was about giving thanks to God, but later, it took on more meanings, such as expressing gratitude towards loved ones.

13.       Thanksgiving reminds me to cherish loved ones, express gratitude, and appreciate the blessings life continuously provides.

14.       I learned how to do citations, an essential element for writing papers in the future. It was very beneficial and practical knowledge.

15.       Today the tutor talked about how to compose an article properly. He gave us an example article to demonstrate the starting of article should be big, while the end the article should be a brief conclusion.
