Activity focus and purpose :

To align with the Ministry of Education's policy on English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), experienced foreign teachers are arranged to lead small-group (10 people) English corner activities to enhance the confidence and competence of local teachers in using English as a teaching language. By creating a conducive environment and being guided by the foreign teachers, our school's teachers are provided with opportunities to improve their oral proficiency and confidence in using English.

Activity features and implementation :

The theme is “Working and Relaxation “.

Several teachers were new participants in the English Corner, and they provided positive feedback after attending English corner. The instructor started by guiding the discussion with vocabularies and example sentences related to the topic. They also used short Q&A exercises and brief texts on the learning sheets to practice dialogue in pairs. The foreign instructor also moved around to observe each group of teachers practicing their speaking skills and provided timely guidance on word usage. Through thematic learning, teachers acquire relevant vocabularies and have opportunities to express their viewpoints in English. As soon as a teacher enters the meeting room, the instructor immediately began the lesson, ensuring that every minute is utilized effectively. The instructor made the most of every minute of the 60 minutes, demonstrating a dedicated and serious attitude, which earned the appreciation of our school’s teachers.
