Activity focus and purpose :

The event is organized in accordance with the Ministry of Education’s “Full Power with F.O.U.R.: Integrated Strategies for EMI Instructional Design and AI Application.”

We are pleased to invite Associate Professor Chen Jui Hua from National Sun Yat-Sen University as the guest speaker for the EMI Faculty Development Workshop.

Associate Professor Chen has conducted in-depth research on EMI (English-Medium Instruction) teaching. In addition to participating in EMI class observations and discussions, he has also led EMI faculty learning communities for several years, developing unique insights into EMI pedagogy.

This workshop will present perspectives from different departments and demonstrate diverse AI teaching tools and strategies to enhance our faculty’s skills in EMI course preparation and classroom instruction.

n   Applying Backward Design to EMI Courses

n   Explain the current policies of the Office of Academic Affairs regarding the promotion of EMI education at the university level

n   Describe the impact of implementing EMI courses on both teachers and students

n   Discuss how to use logical course design by AI tool(NoteGPT) to facilitate a smoother integration of EMI into teaching
