1.      Activity focus and purpose :

   In alignment with the Ministry of Education's EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) policy, a

   capacity-building lecture has been organized to enhance the EMI teaching skills of our school's

   faculty.

2.      Activity features and implementation :

The professor Huey-nah Chou distilled EMI teaching experience into 7 key mindsets and 11 instructional strategies from her teaching experiences. Beyond redefining EMI, the professor Chou emphasized “empathy” as a crucial factor in the EMI classroom. Additionally, she demonstrated how classroom atmosphere can enhance students' learning outcomes in. Finally, the lecture reiterated that EMI is not solely about emphasizing English language instruction but spans across professional domains, and each university should incorporate its unique characteristics and build its own EMI brand into practices.
